Published by Damien Ferguson on the 2nd of August 2015A Response To Matthew Beard's Article on Vampires
Recently a Mr. Matthew Beard wrote an article about vampires and his...opinions...if you can call them that, are pretty much nothing more than a mix of shock value, uneducated, anti LBGT, sociopolitical crap.
He seems to think that it is teachers faults that people who identify as vampire and other exist. He completely lacks reality in this aspect as parents and everyone else in the community aren’t responsible.
Only random school teachers. He also seems to believe that everyone is, like him I suppose, a sheep who believes anything they are told or read and cannot research, learn or think for themselves. He asks whose job is it to tell you if you are or are not a vampire? Well in truth it is your own to find out. If you are one it is something you cannot deny and will eventually arrive to your conclusion in time.
Yes there are “fakes” and whatnot out there. Though for any real vampire they are easy to spot. Vampires can indeed be born and made. Though not made thru bad teaching or simply needing an identity or a place to fit in.
Really not much else to say on this utter piece of crap blog post the gentleman has written. I would invite other scholars, experts or even other vampires to actually chime in and let me know what you think about this or Mr. Beards article.
What the Guardian says about him – Matthew Beard is an Australian philosopher and ethicist, based in Sydney, and an Adjunct Lecturer at UNSW Canberra’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He contributes regularly to Cogito, an academic blog with The Conversation.
