When folk start talking about wars and whatnot, especially over the net, regarding factions or groups in the community you know what it makes me want to do? Pull out my Dumb ass Vanquishing Axe of plus Five Reality. I mean seriously. Its a community. Its the net, not your local V:TM group. So why do folk have such an issue with separating the LARPing from real life?
Perhaps it is because a lot of the current community is based from certain people and works and heavily influenced by Tabletop RPGS. I cannot see any other reason really for it outside that. Soperhaps it is time to leave the role playing for the weekly local gaming group and actually Modernize the current community? Sure regardless some things will of course remain. But perhaps it is time to leave the RPG behind and come out into the modern world and build something that is respectable and worthy to be left behind.
Those who want to RP are of course fine, though I would ask that they leave it out of the communities and actually let the community grow, find itself, and become something without RPG ties. Something better, brighter. A true force of change, learning and growth in the world.
Do not get me wrong, I enjoy playing DnD with friends but it stays there and doesn’t come with me into reality. So what do say you fellow readers and community folk? Should we modernize and make our own identity and stop using RPG heavy stuff? Should we stop the V:TM clan wars and leave them for the game room?
How would we do that? Hmm that is a good question! We could create new guidelines, even a community codex. We could offer up ideas from real experiences and find better words or phrases for things. We could strive to be better in all ways.
Of course to note I do not mean how one dressesthat is simply a choice in looks and clothes. If that bothers you I would question some things about yourself…
