Before, or after, the ritual and after reading about the types of elements You will have more than likely found your element did the ritual and decided on other elements you may want to add into your elemental path.
The elemental path is not about worshiping the elements. Being a tree hugger, nature lover, or any of the sort. The elementalist uses rituals at times, and even cast spells, however unlike a lot of paths it is much different in how it is done at times, and where it comes from. The elementalist is one who relies on himself and the elements he has allied himself with to achieve his goals, desires, and workings wanted. Gods, dogmas and the like do not really factor in. You are not contacting spirits, gods, demons, angels, or anything like that in this path of magick. Nor is elemental magick about spiritualism. It is more about practicability if anything.
The elementalist unlocks various primal parts of the human psyche, spirit, and mind. As well as enhancing with the elements. They use the elements as extensions of themselves and can reach far and wide. They may at times do a ritual or circle or have a place of power, however unlike many paths, anywhere there is an element they can work and quickly.
Although elementalists have become more rare in this day and age due to the modern technology and a lot of the uses they did in the past being done by the current tech there is still plenty of uses for becoming one. Depending of course on the element(s) you really work on will determine how well, and what all one can do. This makes it a highly varied path with many similarities between each elementalist.
Because of the nature of the magick and how different everything tends to be, as well as the enhances one gets, elementalist tend to have a greater respect for one another. They may not like each and everyone they meet, but they do show respect. This leads to elementalists across the world being akin to a very loose knit family type. We tend to be solitary in our practices.
You are free to use it to cause harm, hinder, help, or aid others. That “negative” wishy washy shit is new age bs. To many do not understand elemental magick or its history and spread false information around. Do not fall for it.
Using the element of water to help plants grow, or to ruin someones day is equal and not wrong in either instance. Of course no matter what you do you can affect things outside of your area or intended target so always take such things into consideration.
While so far everything has been the basics of elemental magick we do plan on doing more in depth in the future. So stay tuned and I hope it has helped you so far.
